Rent-to-Own vs Clicklease vs Financing: How to Pay for a Trailer
Rent-to-Own vs Clicklease vs Financing
There are three ways to get a trailer from Advantage RVs & Trailers without paying cash: rent-to-own through C3 Rentals, lease-to-own through Clicklease, or a traditional loan. Each one fits a different buyer. Here’s how they work and how to pick.

How Each One Works
Rent-to-own (C3 Rentals)
You rent the trailer month to month through C3 Rentals, and your payments work toward owning it. There’s no bank loan. You pick the trailer, apply, make your first payment and tow it home. When the payments are done, the trailer is yours.
Rent-to-own is available on most of our trailers, including cargo and enclosed trailers, dump trailers, utility trailers and flatbeds. It is not available on travel trailers, fifth wheels, motorhomes, toy haulers or fuel trailers.
Rent-to-own usually costs more in total than a loan. You’re paying for flexibility and easier approval, so ask us to show you the full cost on the trailer you want before you sign.
Lease-to-own (Clicklease)
Clicklease is a lease with an option to buy. Here’s the process:
- Down payment: none. There is a one-time documentation fee at signing, usually $79 to $499 depending on the lease size. It doesn’t lower your balance.
- Interest rate: there isn’t one, because it’s a lease and not a loan. A fixed cost is built into the payments. Your total cost is your monthly payment times the number of payments.
- Early buyout: before your 5th regular monthly payment, you can pay the original invoice amount in one payment to own it. Payments you’ve already made don’t count toward that amount.
- Title: the trailer is registered in your name, but the title stays with Clicklease until the lease and purchase option are paid. Then ownership moves to you.

Is Clicklease legit?
Yes. Clicklease is an equipment leasing company that Advantage RVs & Trailers partners with. The thing to watch is total cost: a lease is easier to get than a loan, but you’ll usually pay more over the full term. Multiply the payment by the number of payments and compare it to the trailer price before you decide.
Financing
A trailer loan works like a car loan. A lender pays for the trailer, you own it from day one, and you pay it back with interest. Your rate and down payment depend on your credit. If your credit is good, financing is almost always the cheapest way to pay over time. Start on our financing page.
Which One Should You Pick?
Not sure? Bring us the stock number of the trailer you want and we’ll walk you through the payments on all three.
